Thread Talk Conversations; Cultivating Confidence
Be confident. Too many days are wasted comparing ourselves to others and wishing to be something we aren’t. Everybody has their own strengths and weaknesses. And it is only when you accept everything you are --and aren’t-- that you will truly succeed.

It takes a lot of courage to become the person you were meant to be. The person you want to be. The person you always hoped you could be. And cultivating the confidence to be that person is an ongoing challenge. and there’s much to be said on the subject. This month, we discussed letting go of the things that are no longer serving you, shared tips on how to build your confidence, and shared an empowering story of a woman who recreated her life.


But we’re not the only ones who have something to say about building confidence:

Sometimes we just need a little inspiration to find our confidence. These Netflix shows are sure to make you feel like you can conquer anything!

  1. Being Mary Jane: Mary Jane Paul, a successful cable news anchor who has a closet packed with designer clothes and shoes, a beautiful home, a nice car, and the drive to achieve even greater heights. Yet something is missing. as Mary Jane looks to start a family of her own to share life's greatest gifts, she discovers who she really is and the people who help define her.
  2. Gilmore Girls: Set in a storybook Connecticut town populated by an eclectic mix of dreamers, artists and everyday folk, this multi generational drama about family and friendship centers around Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter, Rory. Lorelai owns the town's bed-and-breakfast, the dragonfly inn, with best friend/chef Sookie, and contends with weekly dinners with eccentric, well-off parents Richard and Emily Gilmore (who always have something to say about their daughter's life).
  3. White Collar: The third time turns out to be the charm for criminal Neal Caffrey. He has been eluding FBI Agent Peter Burke for years, a run that finally comes to an end with his capture. But after the resourceful prisoner escapes from a maximum-security facility, Then is nabbed once again by Burke, Caffrey suggests a different end-game: in return for freedom, he'll help the feds catch long-sought criminals. Though skeptical, Burke soon realizes that Caffrey's instincts and insight are a rare commodity. Caffrey's trusted friend and co-conspirator with ties to the criminal underworld, Mozzie, also becomes a useful source for Burke and the FBI.
  4. The Secret: Interviews with self-proclaimed authors, philosophers, scientists, with an in-depth discussion of visualizing your goals.
  5. Pursuit of Happyness: Life is a struggle for single father Chris Gardner. Evicted from their apartment, he and his young son find themselves alone with no place to go. Even though Chris eventually lands a job as an intern at a prestigious brokerage firm, the position pays no money. The pair must live in shelters and endure many hardships, but Chris refuses to give in to despair as he struggles to create a better life for himself and his son.
  6. Zootopia: The city of Zootopia is a mammal metropolis where various animals live and thrive. When Judy Hopps becomes the first rabbit to join the police force, she quickly learns how tough it is to enforce the law. determined to prove herself, Judy jumps at the opportunity to solve a mysterious case. Unfortunately, that means working with Nick Wilde, a wily fox who makes her job even harder.
